Week in the Life 2012: Sunday

And then, very suddenly, it was Sunday.

Sunday 29th April 2012: wet and wind meant a welly day for sure; Holly drives us to Cirencester for a day trip; it rained all day but was still pretty; Katie Almond's cool ceramics at New Brewery Arts; delicious roast pork at the Golden Cross Inn; we wandered around the church; got home and stuck Amelie on while I scrapbooked; made this layout about little Milo; and a selfie to finish the week.

Well! That was fun but I must say I'm glad I can stop taking sneaky pics of everything now. Week in the Life is always fantastic to look back on, and a great way to capture the little details we often miss. Did you take part? How did you find it?

Week in the Life 2012: Saturday

It was wet and windy. A stay-indoorsy kind of day.

Saturday 28th April 2012: I went to bed at 2.56am; my room through hungover eyes; an egg for breakfast; taking picture of my completed 29 Days of Love album; popped out for an errand or two; found a lost earring under my bedside table; practised harmonies on some songs; exchanged some funny tweets with Studio Calico (yes, I'm back in the club); loving my Aztec cardi, so snug!; work in progress #1; work in progress #2.

Week in the Life 2012: Friday

A double-whammy today! Here's my Friday:

Friday 27th April 2012: getting up; red tights ensemble (I laddered them almost immediately); hair do; Pink Lady apples are yummy; lunch with friends at work; falafel wrap; Stop!; my work to do list; shopping at Waitrose; super-quick salmon and salad sandwich; stomping up the road to my mate's house for a singing practise; Tom plays guitar.

Then we went out to the pub and I got in at half two. Love an unexpected night out, not loving today's hangover.

Week in the Life 2012: Thursday

Thursday. Grey but rather lovely in the end:

Thursday 26th April 2012: I KEPT falling back to sleep; glasses; then contact lenses; a tricky dress to find undies for...; dry pout; toast for breakfast; eating salad with a spoon; walking home with my guy; the river is high; collected my recent projects from Papercraft inspirations magazine; Adam cooked seabass for dinner; it was DELICIOUS; chilling in front of the telly; Adam stitched Sean Bean while I scrapbooked <3; finally finished my 29 Days of Love album; a bit of Six Feet Under to end a lovely eve.

Week in the Life 2012: Wednesday

Just your usual run-of-the-mill rainy Bath day. Apart from it being art editor Helena's birthday that is. Cake was had.

Wednesday 25th April 2012: wet hair to dry; one massive glass of squash before one massive cup of tea; honey nut cornflakes; a tedious little shopping list; getting-ready debris; the view from under my brolly; rainy puddle; Bath is still pretty when grey; Helena's birthday!; Mollie Makes meeting; on my walk home, signs; and the Abbey; I had time to clean - I can SEE my carpet!!; and then there's this little craft mess; dinner - garlic bread and carrot salad; recent convert to The Apprentice; catching up with Alissa's 29 Days of Love. Day 26, something in my closet; Day 22, happy mail; Day 23, my fave letter.

Week in the Life 2012: Tuesday

Tuesday went a little something like this:

Tuesday 24th April 2012: dry washing in; wet washing out; my shelf in the shower room; loving Feilds on my iPod; getting ready - teal jeans, Aztec top and big scarf; quick coffee at the end of BBC Breakfast (NKOTBSB!!); moody skies on my walk to work; the last of the proofing on Mollie Makes issue 14; healthy lunch; the flatplan - please turn bright green!; continually pressing F5 to refresh the page; our Mollie ladies in the corner of the office; yay! Giraffe means we got it sent; I order a mango and lime daiquiri; walking home, I find loud roadworks right outside my house; quick and easy pizza and salad; crashed out at 10pm.

Week in the Life 2012: Monday

So the week started a little like this:

Yup, I totally forgot. The dear Amy Tan reminded me on Instagram. Even though I'd written it in my diary. So I decided at 7.52am on the train from Cardiff to Bath Spa, sans DSLR, that I'd just document my Week in the Life with Instagrams and iPhone images this year.

Monday 23rd April 2012: big sequin flower brooch on jade green jumper; Marimekko research at work; a peppermint tea at lunchtime; Adam hides/does a dog shadow puppet; it rained a lot through my ripped jeans; my desk at Mollie Makes; home again, I ate a cup of chocolate raisins; bleary self-portrait; Community season 2 - yay!; Ad sings while washing up; Tai Chi warm up.

I did eat more than chocolate raisins today! Just in case you were worried about me. Toast, pain au raisin, grapes, chicken club toastie and salad, and a big plate of ravioli and arrabiata sauce. Forgot to take pictures, just wolfed it down!

And um, wow - that didn't take 7 months to finish. This is the way forward! See my epic Week in the Life from last year here. Won't be doing that again in a hurry. Though I love that album, it did end up stressing me out somewhat!

Balance guys, and simplicity. Let's do this. Hope you've had a happy Monday.

Beth + Jonny's Welsh wedding

Somewhere in between interviewing Amy Butler (issue 14 of Mollie Makes) and getting an extra magazine finished this week (more on that soon), I went to a bright, colourful and brilliant wedding in north Wales. It was bilingual, full of very personal touches and incredibly heartfelt. Loved it.

It was hilarious from start to finish. Kim and I realised we were sharing a single bed and Kate and Al went to breakfast in their rollers...

Books, books, books!

I've had a right literary time of it lately. Busy weekend kicked off with Selina Lake's Homespun Style book launch and mini craft fair in Shoreditch. I took soooo many photos (107 to be exact), but I'll need to save the best ones for the next issue of Mollie Makes, so here's a few of the ones that I'm guessing won't make it into the mag...

Clare Nicholson's lovely cards and birdies as featured in the current issue of Mollie Makes.

The sweet and lovely Rosablue.

The hugely cool RayStitch stall.

Awesome Abigail*Ryan goodies.

Beautiful pieces of crocheted yum from Emma Lamb - such a pleasure to finally meet her!

It was a pleasure to meet so many people in fact, from Selina to her assistant Hannah to someone I've wanted to work with for ages, the fabulous Megan Price. Loads more people too! You'll have to read my report in issue 14 of Mollie Makes, out next month ;)

Currently, I'm recovering from the London Book Fair, which I went to today, after spending Saturday and Sunday in north Wales. I need a lie down and that's exactly what I'm gonna do! Night night x

 - Oh, just quick: My tips for crafty books coming up - Keep your eyes peeled for fab and fun-looking offerings from Katie Allen, Momtaz Begum-Hossain and Tif Fussell, aka Dottie Angel.

All the Cs

Chocolate, castles, cocktails, coastline, cream teas, (fish and) chips. A pretty standard trip to Cornwall and Devon for me, then.

It was a lovely break. Then stress-city at work this week and there's no rest for me this weekend! I've got a trip to London for Selina Lake's Homespun Style book launch party, then straight to north Wales for a friend's wedding, back to Bath on Sunday and then London again for the Book Fair on Monday. Phew! Will I see you at Selina's or LBF? What to pack? Argh! It's quarter to 10! Need to get on the case.
