Party at work. Ish.
It's Mollie Makes' birthday today and that meant cake in the office! The wonderful Coffee @ Camden in Bath supplied some delicious treats and sparklers and we went about scoffing them sharpish.
It wasn't all fun and games though. Back at our desks, a couple of features fell through for one reason or another so I had to juggle some stuff around, get new folks on board, some with contracts to be signed, not to mention pull the features together before press in just over a week's time. That's planning, possible commissioning, interviews, designing, editing, high-res image-getting, fitting, pre-media work and PDFing! Argh! Don't be fooled peeps, working on a craft mag isn't all pretties. Still, I know it's not coal mining or rocket science either. It was just a rollercoaster of a day I guess. Oh, the highs and the lows of publishing!
When it comes back from the printers and I can hold it in my hands, it's always worth it. That's the lovely thing about creating something tangible isn't it? I get the same feeling when I make a scrapbook or a delicious meal from scratch.
MM Issue 14 is in shops now. It comes with a lovely DIY wedding lookbook too. Gorgeous even if you're not getting hitched, or don't plan to again.
I'm having a weekend in to relax and calm down, you?
